Stewardship Corner September 2009

Part of the Spirit Formed Empowered Leadership Team attended a Stewardship Conference and we will share some of the information received through NewsNET. It was noted that many pastors do not talk about stewardship from the pulpit and in not doing so, could be missing opportunities. Stewardship is not a financial issue, it is a spiritual issue. Listed below are 5 stewardship tips from a pastoral perspective. Thanks to Rev. Walt Goble for providing this summary:
 

  1. Pastors should preach at least one stewardship message per quarter.
  2. Teach open and obvious stewardship practices to your leaders.
  3. Share stewardship testimonies with the congregation.
  4. Have the courage to talk about money from a biblical basis.
  5. Remind the congregation that stewardship is about time, talent and treasure.
