Internship, Scholarship and Grant Opportunities

West Ohio Conference

 

Emory University Candler School of Theology Scholarships - The 2010 Leadership Candler participants will be offered awards totaling more than $575,000, all providing at least full tuition. Each year, Candler offers up to 30 scholarships, including awards that offer full tuition, fees and a $10,000 annual stipend. In fall 2009, 57 entering Master of Divinity students received full tuition scholarships, totaling more than $100,000. Deadline January 15, 2010.

 

Harding Scholarship - The Harding Scholarship is awarded each year to a full-time student entering a master’s degree program at MTSO in the fall. To qualify, an applicant must be admitted to a master’s degree program at MTSO and have a minimum grade point average of 3.6 on a 4.0 scale for all undergraduate academic work completed. Deadline February 1, 2010.

  

Eliza Garrett Scholarship - Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary announces a new scholarship that pays full tuition and a $10,000 annual stipend available to full-time students enrolling in a master’s degree program in the fall of 2010. Deadline February 1, 2010.

 

Peace with Justice Grants - Funding for this program is generated by the local churches and Annual Conferences from the Peace with Justice offering taken on Peace with Justice Sunday that “witnesses to God’s demands for a faithful, just, disarmed, and secure world.” Deadline February 12, 2010.

 

Next Generations Summer Internships - The West Ohio Conference offers Internship opportunities to college undergraduates who are members of a West Ohio United Methodist church and interested in exploring a call to ordained ministry.  Funding comes from apportionment giving and Strength for Today...Bright Hope for Tomorrow. 

Mentor deadline is February 15, 2010. Intern deadline is March 5, 2010.

 

Next Generations Leadership Scholarships - The West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church offers three different scholarship opportunities for undergraduates attending colleges or universities.  There are basic criteria that must be met as well as specific criteria for each type of scholarship.  Funding comes from apportionment giving and United Methodist Student Day offerings. Deadline April 1, 2010.

 

 

Disciple Making Churches Grants - Churches and other ministry centers across West Ohio receive grants for revitalization, starting a new church, and Hispanic Ministries.  Funding for all West Ohio Community and Congregational Grants comes from the apportionment giving of West Ohio congregations like yours. 

 

Community Center & Cooperative Parish Grants - These grants are available to West Ohio United Methodist community centers and cooperative parishes engaged in overcoming poverty. Funding comes from apportionment giving.
